After receiving various requests from cinema theaters around the country, Indian Premier League has finally decided to circulate tenders to sell the IPL Cricket 2009 Matches telecast rights to cinema owners.
"We have received requests from many chains of cinema theatres. We have decided to issue tenders for selling these rights for one year or so. We will decide on continuing this after seeing how it goes on," said IPL chairman Lalit Modi today.
Cricket lovers in India will get to see the upcoming IPL Cricket 2009 Season 2 Matches on a 70mm screen, if this new idea gets approved. IPL Cricket matches too last for up to 3 hours with their short innings of 20 overs for each team, so telecasting them in cinema halls would be an ideal deal.
